Peregrines in East of England
Norwich Cathedral cameras and planning an urban peregrine watch.
Norwich Cathedral
The Hawk and Owl Trust hosts the Norwich Cathedral peregrine cameras. Begin on the project page for the current feed and notices. An offline camera does not mean the birds have left, and an old clip is not a live sighting.
For an in-person visit, check the cathedral's own visitor information and any current watchpoint announcement. A camera page alone does not establish that a staffed session is running. Watch from public areas and respect services, events and any barriers.
Choose the kind of view you want
A camera is better for seeing small details at the nest without approaching it. Ground-level watching is better for following birds across the skyline. Neither replaces a recent update from the people monitoring the pair.
Beyond a cathedral visit
If you are watching over an estuary or open wetland, scan from an established hide or path. A distant hunting falcon can pass quickly: note wing shape and tail proportions before trying to read plumage. Use the field cheat sheet to record your observations and compare them later.
For another urban project within reach of the region, see the Midlands guide.
